Upon becoming aware of these allegations we acted swiftly and decisively– the employee in question was placed on suspension and an independent internal investigation team was formed and dispatched to South Sudan to conduct a comprehensive on-site investigation

We are actively investigating this matter. We have made our best efforts to gather evidence and materials from several sources.Based on the investigating team’s review of the evidence provided to date, we have not found indications of bribery by the employee in question. In addition, we conducted a thorough investigation of all other partners, none of whom indicated a bribe had been solicited.

We also encourage any persons with factual knowledge of this matter to report it through our external compliance reporting and whistle-blowing channels. Reports can be made anonymously and will be treated as strictly confidential.

We would not hesitate to act decisively and severely against any employee who was found to have engaged in such behavior.

In the interim, we will continue to work to support the development of South Sudan, in partnership with local business, communities and the South Sudanese government.
