Yambio Star beat Al Wehida 2-1 in the finals to become the 2021/2022 Champions of Yambio Local Football Association-South Sudan Cup (YLFA-SSC) on Sunday at Gbudue Stadium.

The ultimate winners, Yambio Star FC, took on Al Wehida in the final that attracted football fans from different clubs.

Al Wehida took the lead within two minutes of the game after their captain Emmanuel Elisa was fouled inside the 16-yard box.

Yambio Star equalized through a penalty after the referee awarded them after a fault on one of their players in 25 minutes of the game.

The winners scored a deflection goal in 40 minutes just before the break, thanks to Deco Daka’s goal.

South Sudan Cup games are continuing in other Local Football Associations (LFA) across the country. They include Mundri LFA, Yei LFA, Wau, and many other places.

In August, Malakia of Torit won the championship of Torit Location Football Association (TLFA) after beating Kineti Football Club (FC) 1-0 margin in the final.

Last week Zalan FC were also crowned the winners of the Rumbek Local Football Association South Sudan Cup (RLFA-SSC).

Zalan FC beat the Rumbek giants Holy Family FC 1-0 to claim this year’s Rumbek South Sudan Cup thanks to the defender Kaman.

The winners of those Local Football Associations will now represent their association in the national competition, where they will face winning clubs from other states in the national tournament.

Elsewhere, Al Ahly Rubkona FC booked their place in the finals after beating USB FC 2-0 in the semifinals on Sunday. The team also won the Bentu Local Football Association South Sudan Cup 2021/2022.

It is the first-ever occasion for the Al Ahly Rubkona Boys to reach the South Sudan Cup (SSCUP) final editions in the state. They also became the first club from the second division to reach the SSCUP final in Bentiu Local Football competition.

Al Ahly Fc will now be battling with former champions, Bentiu Olympic, who beat the Generation 4-3 in penalties in the Bentu Local Football Association South Sudan Cup (BLFA-SSC) final match.

The date of the final is yet to be announced by the Bentiu Local Football Association organizing committee.

However, some inside sources said that the final match will be on 18-10-2021.
