Woman burns husband in Aweil
Police officers in Aweil, Northern Bahr el-Ghazal State, have arrested a 34-year-old woman for burning her husband inside the house.
According to a statement from the police, the woman intentionally set the house ablaze on Thursday at 5:46 am while her husband was asleep.
She allegedly accused her husband of drunkenness and physical abuse.
She reportedly locked the door as the fire consumed the roof of the hut and her husband, Lueth Deng got trapped inside.
Aweil police spokesperson, Guot Guot Akol, said her son, who is 13 years old, with support from the neighbours, managed to break the door and rescue the victim.
However, they could not rescue the family property as it was burnt to ashes.
Guot said a case has been opened against the woman and police are investigating the incident.
