Western Bahr-el-Ghazal gov’t commemorates one-year anniversary
The Western Bahr el Ghazal State members of the cabinet have commemorated one year of service since the reconstitution of the government.
Speaking during the event, the area governor, Sarah Cleto, applauded the state officials for their continued hard work towards service delivery to their citizens.
Sarah said her state cabinet members have been championing for peace to provide a conducive environment for the state government to function efficiently and enable people to enjoy permanent peace.
“We are proud of everyone, all the advisors, ministers, chairpersons, deputies, and members of independent commissions and the county commissioners. We wish to continue working in harmony and to deliver greater services to our citizens, “Sarah said.
She said it would not be easy for the state to achieve lasting peace in the state if it were not for the cooperation among the appointed officials.
“As a state governor, I would like to thank and congratulate you in particular for what you have been doing,” Sarah said.
“What all of us are doing it for the betterment of our state. I have witnessed all of us working as sons and daughters of WBGS despite our political affiliations, and that is what we are for, “she said.
She called on her officials to continue with the spirit of unity, saying cooperation and good understanding among the executives would result in the peaceful co-existence of the state’s communities.
Sarah encouraged the officials to do more in the coming days, especially in terms of service delivery to their people. Sarah said that although the elections are near, they should put service delivery to the public first.
Adisson Arkangelo Musa, the state minister of information, also expressed happiness for completing one year successfully in office. He argued that it was the mandate of the officials to make sure that the existing unity continued in the coming months.
“Now a full year has passed since the establishment of the national unity government for the state of Western Bahr al-Ghazal. This represents a great day to celebrate a year full of achievements as the state witnessed economic stability, the return of calm and security, and the level of stability, “the information minister, Musa stated.
He claimed that Western Bahr al-Ghazal had become a forerunner in terms of security and economic stability.
He attributed this to the wisdom of the leaders of the state and their cooperation, and security and economic stability in terms of development are considered among the requirements and basics of the peace agreement.
This meeting came as a result of the state’s governor, Sarah Cleto’s, call to consult and discuss ways of working for the current year to plan and implement state programmes in all fields.
