Upper Nile University has opened up its doors for admission amidst biting challenges that threaten to scuttle learning.

The varsity Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Marial Awor, presided over the event yesterday in Juba, alongside members of the Senate such as Prof. Yoanes Eduard, and the Secretary of Administration and Finance Affairs, Prof. Billy Billy Berto Madison among other academics.

“The registration process for students has begun, and I hope they will come to the university with a new spirit, and the lectures will start two weeks from now,’’ he said.

He called on students to be patient knowing that there are challenges such as food rations, housing and transportation that may paralyse learning.

Prof Awor assured us that he would send a delegation to Malakal to inspect the progress of the construction of the new buildings in Malakal.

“We are also working hard to transfer the university to Upper Nile State, Malakal, gradually by transferring first and second-level students, and we thank the state government for providing security and stability in all parts of Malakal.”
