Tottenham sacks Nuno as head coach
Tottenham Hotspurs have sacked Nuno Espirito as the head coach after having managed only 10 English Premier League games. The former Portuguese international took over Spurs at the beginning of the season from Ryan Mason, who led the team on an interim basis after the sacking of Jose Mourinho.
Spurs began their campaign on a good note with some of the victories including an emphatic one against Manchester City. But as days went by, the team’s sting waned with the club’s serial scorer Harry Kane remaining on and off the team with lethargic form.
It was the last 3-0 defeat in the hands of equally dreadful Manchester United last weekend that drove the final nail on the coffin of the former Wolverhampton coach’s job.
The club announced the sacking of Nuno, who before his appointment, had recorded stellar league performances with Wolves, although with no trophy to show for it.
Tottenham is currently at number eight with 15 points, just a point behind Brighton and two points below Manchester United and Arsenal.
