Tito nets brace as Bright Stars outshine Djibouti in Egypt

The Bright Stars striker Tito Okello scored two goals in the second half to help South Sudan beat Djibouti 4-2 in their first preliminary AFCON Qualifiers in Egypt in today evening.

The first half ended goalless with both sides failing to touch each other’s side net, although the Bright Stars missed golden chances.

However, the South Sudanese national team came back strong to score four goals to survive the mounting challenge from a resiliently looking Djibouti side.

Tito Okello opened the scoring in the 54th minute, disorganizing the opponents.

Toho Rashid added a second goal in the 68th minute before Okello scored his second goal of the game after 75 minutes.

Djibouti got its first goal after 70 minutes, but South Sudan made sure they walked away with the maximum possible points.

South Sudan’s midfielder, William Gama, scored the third goal in the 89th minute before Djibouti scored their second.

As things stand now, Bright Stars have three points with a two-goal advantage over Djibouti’s side.

South Sudan now eyes another win in the return home game, which will be played in Uganda, Kampala.
