South Sudanese urged to report crime during Easter

The National Police Service is urging citizens in Juba to report any form of crime during these Easter holiday celebrations for quicker action by the law enforcers.
Security officers have been deployed in all areas in Juba to protect people from organised crimes such as robbery by violence or pickpockets.
“So far, the situation is good, and we are appealing to the citizens to report any form of violence in case of any crime happening….the police are deployed everywhere in the main towns, sectors and sub-sectors,” said the national police spokesperson, Maj. Gen. Daniel Justine, as he spoke to The City Review on Sunday through a mobile phone interview.
He urged citizens to cooperate with the police by reporting security breaches to the nearest police stations so that officers can remedy the situation.
“We deployed the police based on an analysis of the areas because crime is very high in some areas while it is very low or almost normal in others,” said a police spokesperson.
He added that: “If you go out there, you will see police everywhere. Our presence is very important, and we want the public to help the police by reporting any issues.’’
Daniel also gave the 24-hour emergency telephone number 122 and said that citizens should make use of the number to report crimes.
