Six people sustain injuries in Mundri road accident

At least six passengers sustained injuries in Mundri West County of Western Equatoria State (WES) after a land cruiser vehicle they were travelling in overturned few miles away from Mundri town.

“We had a serious accident over the weekend, just a few miles from Mundri town in a place called Okari junction. The land cruiser carrying several people overturned and about six people were critically injured. We thank God that no one died,” Maj. Abraham Tong, the Inspector of Traffic Police in Mundri West County, told The City Review on a mobile phone interview.

He added that “All the injured persons were rushed to hospital for further treatment and are recovering well though others remained in critical condition there is a good improvement.”

He said that among the six injured is a driver called James Yepete Korkon, who is now in good condition.

However, he said the cause of the accidents was due to the technical issues within the vehicle’s engine.

“We have been telling our drivers that they need to always check their cars while on a journey…it is a big challenge for us in the area.”
