Simon promises to redeem Simba FC after signing deal

The head coach for the second division side Simba FC, Simon James Yar, has promised to do everything possible to get the team back into the top tier of the Juba League after putting pen to paper.
Simon, who doubles as the Bright Star U-23 national team head coach, has been appointed by Simba FC management to guide the club and bring back the team’s lost glory.
Speaking to The City Review on Monday, Simon confirmed his appointment and assured the fans that he would lead the club to the first division of Juba’s top league.
“I was appointed last week by the Simba FC management. As we speak, I have agreed to collaborate with them. I am already with them, ” he revealed.
When asked what he intended to do for the team, Simon said, “The management had reasons for appointing me. One of them is that they wanted to see good performance from the team, including taking them back to the first division.”
Simon promised to work closely with the club management and his players to complete the mission to enable the club to become one of the strongest clubs in the Juba league.
Simon said, although he was appointed as Simba FC coach, he still holds his position at Bright Star U-23.
“I am still the Bright Star U-23 National team head coach. I will continue to lead them,” he added.
The club is currently ranked second in the Juba Local Football Second Division League table.
He holds a B licence and has managed several clubs in Juba, including the country’s national senior men’s team (Bright Star).
In September last year, the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) appointed Simon James Yor as the acting head coach for the men’s senior national team after the contract of Cyprian Besong Ashu came to an end.
In October 2021, Mr Simon, guided the Bright Stars senior team to Morocco, for international friendly matches organised by the Moroccan Football Association (MFA) to get African countries together and keep football growing on the continent.
They played three games against Morocco, Malawi, and Sierra Leone, in which he managed to get a point against Sierra Leone in a 1-1 draw, but the rest ended in defeat.
Simon has also served as the manager of Al-Malakia FC and was later appointed the manager of U-20 on October 19, 2021. In June 2021, Yor was appointed as the U-23 national team coach.
He led the U-20 team in CECAFA U20 2020, taking the third position and winning a bronze medal for the country ahead of other well-established East African teams.
Although Simon looks like one of the best coaches in the country, he has got a big task ahead of him to put his experience on the pitch for fans to celebrate.
