Senegal wins AFCON after beating Egypt on spot-kicks

Senegal won their first-ever African Cup of Nations title after being Egypt in the finals. The Lions of Teranga drew against the Pharaohs in the normal time, forcing the game to proceed to the extra time, which also ended goalless.
A penalty became the last resort to break the stalemate as both sides salivated for the crown. In the first half, Sadio Mane squandered a golden chance to put his side ahead in the seventh minute after Zamalek’s Gabaski comfortably saved his penalty. For Senegal, Koulibaly, Diallo, Deing and Mane scored their penalties as Sarr got his comfortably saved. On the hand, Egypt only scored two penalties through Handi and Zizo. Lasheen and Abdelmonem missed their chances.
