RRC donates 3000 bags of rice to Ruweng

The Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) has donated 3,000 bags of rice to Ruweng Administrative Area.

Out of the 3000 bags of rice, 1500 were distributed to Ruweng community living in Juba.

Santino Arop Monyror, the Coordinator of Ruweng Administrative Area in Juba, said they had requested the RRC to rescue the situation back at home.

 He said the people back home starving due to a shortage of food.

 “Many people are suffering and that is why we are distributing bags of rice given to us by the RRC to the citizens,” Arop said.

He said though the donation would be enough, they decided to divide the 3,000 bags into 1,500 bags to meet the needs of the people at home and those in Juba.

 “We decided that half of the 3,000 bags of rice be taken to people in the region and the remainder we distribute to people based in Juba,” Arop said.

He said one bag of rice was divided between two people.

“When we get more food donations, we shall distribute one bag per person but as for now, we have to distribute one bag between two people,” Arop stated.
