President Kiir sacks Governor Chagor’s Deputy

President Salva Kiir has sacked Jonglei State’s Deputy Governor, Antipas Nyok.

Nyok who has served as the DG under Governor Denay Jok Chagor has since been replaced by Jacob Makuei Dengdit.

Nyok was appointed to the DG position by President Kirr in 2021 following the formation of State revitalized government.

His ouster was announced on the state broadcaster – SSBC on Wednesday evening though no reason (s) was given for the new change.

The new changes come amidst a power struggle in Chagor-Nyok’s administration, over the appointments of senior state government officials.
