Police arrest woman linked with death of 3 children
Bodies of three children were retrieved from River Peth-Lou in Aweil East County by the police in what authorities suspect to be murder.
Sombre mood engulfed the little but quiet village of Mabil-Tokyiep, north of Bahr el Ghazal, Wednesday morning, following the chilling discovery.
Police suspect that the slain minors could have been killed somewhere before their bodies were dumped in the river.
The children, aged between the ages of five and one, were identified as Yal Malal Lual (5), Lual Malal Lual (3) years and one-year-old Agol Malal Lual. One child managed to escape and later raised an alarm.
Aweil Police Spokesperson, Guot Guot Akol confirmed that they have since arrested one suspect, a 28-year-old woman who is suspected to have committed the act.
The motive of the killing was not immediately established as police launched an investigation into the matter.
