Overall pass rate impress, as JCC leads in 2024 primary eight exams

Out of the total 77,264 candidates (42,257 males, 35,007 females) who sat for the examination, 73,326 candidates (40,427 males, 32,899 females) passed the exams, making a 94.9% pass rate.

Juba Christian Centre (JCC) Primary School in Central Equatoria State has emerged top in the 2024 South Sudan Certificate of Primary Education examination results released yesterday.
The school has been appearing in the top 13 best performing. In the latest results, out of the total 77,264 candidates (42,257 males, 35,007 females) who sat for the examination, 73,326 candidates (40,427 males, 32,899 females) passed the exams, making a 94.9% pass rate.
The top 13 schools included JCC Model Primary School, which emerged the best school across the country with 89.1%; Star Venus Academy came in second with 87.8 %, and JCC Hai Negil Primary School, with a 87.6% score, coming third.
Other schools that made up to the top 13 were Juba Junior School, Central Equatoria, St. Peter Primary School, IMA Memorial Academy of Western Equatoria State, Lofus Primary School of Eastern Equatoria State, ALP Center, River Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Sunlight Primary in Jonglei and Alliance.
Both Felix Luwala Wani from JCC Hai-Negil Primary School and Moses Jerry Acire Ocaya of JCC Model Primary School emerged top, scoring 453 marks.
They were followed by Ador Moses Akoch-Mayuat from River Baptist Nursery and Primary School (452), Anthony Gubek Emmanuel Ladu (451), Gifty Chandia Remis Aluwe (451) and Sabrine Keji Paulino Francis (451), who are all from JCC Model Primary School.
Falex Remijo Natale Ucin came in seven from JCC High Negil Primary School, followed by John Deng-Dau Deng of Venus Star Academy, Kueth Biel Chiok Wiew of Liberty Primary School of Unity State, Michael Manyang Bolmodut and Noel Mokutu Thomas-Justin of JCC Model Primary School, Peter Mabil Luel Yule of St. Peter Primary School and Wol Majok Adeo Akoch, Lerchok Complex Primary School, Western Barh el Ghazal State, all who recorded 450 marks.
Although the number of girls that passed the exams in comparison to boys was low, excellent performance was also achieved by some fourteen girls who emerged as the top female pupils. These included: Gifty Chandaya Rimes-Alure as the highest performing girl of the Examination, Sabrina Keji Faolino-Francis, Nyamal Khor Birjor Peckham, Rina Afulu Samuel Santino, Sarah David Lado, Sylvia Kaku Jacob Serafino,
Viola Nyumon Julius Henry, Adut Mayom, Caroline Yobe Waniyama, Diana lyar Peter Maloach, Julia Simonsaac Aventura, Nyokwada Kia Gil Nyon, Nya Kual Met Chuan Majok, and Nyaluak Kwajek Chual Dor.
Thirteen students attained between 450 to 500 marks, with Felix Luwala Wani of JCC Hai Negil Primary School topping the list with a score 453 total. 24,319 candidates scored between 300 to 399 while 6,626 in the average of 299- 250 and 3,878 candidates failed the examination.
Science and Christian religious education are the best performed subjects with a 79% and 79.4% pass rate and the worst performed subjects being mathematics and Islamic religious education. The ministry stayed that they would conduct recruitment and training of teachers for the respective subjects to improve the performance
On the other hand, ALP Center for adults, which is a centre for adult education in Eastern Equatorial State, came in ninth on the list, with a pass rate of 87%, showing a significant improvement in adult education and possible hope for others.
Pupils can now access the result through Digi results through dialing *113# and won’t have to go to the Ministry to acquire them. One is advised to have at least SSP 7000 thousand in their account to be able to access the results. Pupils celebrated as the prompt release of the results mean they could finally start their academic year after a long wait.
