Over 20 garbage trucks imported for Juba cleaning exercise

The Go-Green East Africa Company Limited in partnership with the Central Equatoria State government have imported 24 garbage trucks to keep the city clean.

The Director of the Go Green East Africa Company, Francis Jada, said the project has been on for the last two years and that a good amount of money has been invested in it.

“We have done our part. It is now the compliance that needs to go to the public and they comply on how we are going to do the job. Even if we bring 100 trucks, and they do not comply at the grassroots then we will not clean our city,” Jada said.

He urged the public to cooperate with their data collection team.

“That data will make our work much easier to distribute these few resources that we have,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Mayor said it was a remarkable day to receive the garbage trucks that had been shipped from China by the Go Green East Africa Company Limited.

He said they had a joint memorandum of understanding with the company and they would be working together as partners in garbage collection within the capital.

Allah-Jabu appealed to the public to cooperate with the authorities as they collect data from one suburb to the next before the garbage trucks are sent to their designated areas of operation.

The 24 garbage trucks were officially rolled out by Central Equatoria State Governor, Emmanuel Anthony Adil.

Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony said his government and other partners like the Ministry of Environment, Juba City Council and the Go Green Company, would cooperate to render services to the public and keep the city clean.

Adil urged society to keep the city clean.

He further reiterated the commitment of the government institutions to keep Juba safe, clean and green.
