NSS arrest over 10 suspects linked to Toronto gang
National Security Service (NSS) has arrested over 10 suspects linked to Toronto- a rampant motor-craze gang terrorising residents in Juba.
The Internal Security Bureau revealed in a statement dated February 3, 2022, that the suspects were arrested in a crackdown that was conducted in Juba.
According to the ISB, the operation was triggered by a series of organised crimes blamed on the gang members such as phone and bag snatching.
Residents walking in the streets of Juba have had to contend with the marauding gang members who are daring and can go an extra length to actualise their mugging mission or sometimes through the use of weapons.
The ISB recounted an incident in which a pregnant woman who boarded a Boda Boda was pulled off when she was moving. The woman is said to have died from the injuries she sustained in the incident.
The security officers said the crackdown should send a warning shot to the other elements planning to engage in crime. They have called cooperation with the public to ensure heightened vigilance to weed out crime.
‘‘The National Security Service hereby calls upon the general public cooperate with all the law enforcement agencies by revealing traces that will lead to the apprehension of the suspects in order to create a peaceful and secure state of the art living environment,’’ ISB partly said in the statement.
