President Salva Kiir has urged the Ngok Dinka and Twic communities to stay true to the peace accord they recently entered into, stressing the need for long-term harmony and cooperation between the two neighboring communities.

The President’s message came during a consultative session held in Juba, where he met with Warrap State Governor Magok Magok Deng and Abyei’s Chief Administrator Charles Abyei Jok. They were joined by commissioners representing counties from both the Abyei Administrative Area and Warrap State.

Chief Administrator Jok noted that the two communities had pledged to co-exist peacefully, marking a critical turning point following a period of tension and unrest. He emphasized that this renewed understanding lays the foundation for stability.

Twic County Commissioner John Mabior Marup, who also took part in the meeting, said President Kiir encouraged local leaders to take concrete steps toward restoring trust and unity among the people.

Similarly, Commissioner Ayuel Kiir Chol of Rumamer County described the engagement with the President as a morale boost. He said the meeting reinvigorated their shared resolve to spread the message of reconciliation at the grassroots level.

President Kiir’s continued outreach reflects his administration’s broader commitment to conflict resolution and peacebuilding across South Sudan’s diverse communities.
