New SSFA officials to formally take over office tomorrow

The newly elected South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) officials will formally take over the office in Juba on Tuesday morning.

The association has announced that plans are underway for a handover ceremony where outgoing president Francis Amin will pass the button to the incumbent Gen. Augustino Maduot Parek. Charles Udwar Ukech, who won the seat of the deputy president of the association, will also assume office formally.

‘‘The handover ceremony will be attended by the newly elected Board of Directors, Staff of SSFA and the former served members of Board of Directors. We kindly invite all the Media Houses to come and cover this important event and shall be concluded with Press Statement,’’ the SSFA stated in a statement.

Gen. Parek beat fierce competition from worthy contenders in Lual Maluk Lual, Francis Amin and Shafiq Gordon who garnered 11 votes, four votes and two votes respectively in the last election. Gen. Parek won with 20 votes out of a possible 37.

Charles Ukech clinched the vice presidency with 21 votes out of a possible 37.  The other contenders were Makur Majok who got nine votes, Venasio Amum who had four votes, and Abdulrahman Rajab who got three votes.
