Nasery FC, Bentiu Olympics knocked out of South Sudan Cup

Nasery FC from Mundri were knocked out of the 2021/2022 South Sudan Cup after suffering a second defeat of 2-0 to Jebel Koteen FC in their second game of the playoff on Sunday at Buluk Training Centre, Juba.
The Mundri Boys were beaten 3-1 in the first game at the same ground, and the return match also ended in a disappointment for the Western Equatoria Sub-local football side.
Although the Nasery FC players displayed one of the most beautiful and entertaining performances on the pitch, Koteen’s boys had a message that football is all about the result and not the aesthetics.
Kapoeta’s striker, Moses Okuo, scored a brace to keep his team in Juba. His 24th and 84th-minute goals were enough to seal the club’s second winner and knock out the Western Equatoria Sub-local FA.
As it stands, Jebel Koteen FC won 5-1 on aggregate, and they qualified for another playoff against the lucky boys of Terekeka Sub-local FA, Al-Weheda FC.
It was the first time in history for Nasery FC to get a promotion to the national competition. On the other hand, the Mountain Boys have been in the mix yearly.
They came alongside Yambio Stars as Western Equatoria State representatives in the national league in which the two sides were drawn against two Eastern Equatoria sides.
Yambio Stars won their first game against Malakia FC of Torit 3-4 in a very tight game and should do what they can to keep them in the game.
Still in the South Sudan Cup, Bentiu Olympic’s stay in Juba was also cut short after being hammered by Juba’s champions, Amarat United, 4-1 in the last game at the same playground.

The first game ended 3-1 in favour of the homeboys, Amarat United. They are through to the next stage with a 2-7 aggregate.
