A mobile court in Leer County has freed the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) Director for Koch County, Unity State, who had been arrested over alleged involvement in a murder case.
The Director was reportedly linked to the murder of the deceased, who is said to have been killed in January this year in Koch County.
Madeng Latjor Madeng, Unity State Public Prosecutor and acting Legal Administration, confirmed the release of the RRC Director this week, after spending four months in detention.
“The mobile court has dismissed the case of the RRC Director who was arrested due to alleged phone communications with the criminals who murdered someone in Koch County,”Madeng said.
During the court proceedings, we involved two telecommunication companies to track the communication but we found that the accused is innocent and he did not communicate with anyone for the killing and there was no reason to link him to the murder, Madeng said.
Ruot Riak, the accused Director confirmed his release from detention, and blamed Koch County Commissioner for ordering his arrest.
“My detention was ordered by the Commissioner of Koch County,” Riak said, confirming that his arrest was made in January 15.
