Ministry to announce SSCSE results ‘soon’
The Ministry of General Education and Instruction will soon announce the results of the South Sudan Certificate of Secondary Examination (SSCSE), minister Awut Deng Acuil said.
While briefing President Salva Kiir on the status of the education sector, particularly on the quality of education, the minister exuded confidence in the performance of the students.
The office of the President, via its Facebook page, stated that Awut furnished the head of state with the details of the candidates’ performance, although it did not delve into the finer details of the brief.
‘‘They briefed H.E. the President about the performance of National Examination that was done early this year and informed that they will announce the results soon, now they have briefed H.E. the President about the performance,’’ statement from the Office of the President read.
It further revealed that President Kiir examined the structures of the education sector and the prospects of increasing the performance levels among the learners.
‘‘H. E. the President and the team of the Ministry of General Education looked at the structures of schools and whether they are able to provide better education services to the children, as well as looking at teachers as the key drivers of the education system, with particular emphasis on how best they can do their jobs.’’
It added ‘‘Hon. Awut Deng Acuil responded that their focus is going to be on how best to improve the services of the teachers and invest in their training so that they can carry out their jobs to the best of their abilities.’’ A total of 32,167 candidates sat for the national examinations in April 2022, and their results are due for release.
