Lobong urges for equal training for SPLM cadres at the grassroots

The Governor of Eastern Equatoria State, Louis Lobong Lojore, has urged the SPLM National Secretariat to extend equal opportunities in training and financial support to grassroots cadres across all states, stressing that the strength of the party lies with its base.
Governor Lobong made the remarks during a courtesy visit to the SPLM Secretary General, Prof. Paul Logale Jumi on Monday in Juba.
During the meeting, the governor presented a report outlining the achievements, challenges, and plans of the SPLM Secretariat in Eastern Equatoria State.
He noted that despite progress in education, economic initiatives, and party organization, challenges persist, particularly in ensuring effective communication between the National Secretariat and state branches.
“While the National Secretariat serves as the policy-making body, the real work of the party lies at the grassroots. When cadres at the grassroots are well informed, they will always be prepared,” Governor Lobong said.
He lamented that most training has been concentrated in Juba instead of reaching those closer to the voters.
The governor reaffirmed that SPLM in Eastern Equatoria State remains strong and committed, urging all members to register.
However, he emphasized that equal opportunities for training and logistics should be extended to all states to consolidate the party’s popular support.
In response, the SPLM Secretary General Prof. Paul Logale Jumi commended Governor Lobong for his consistent leadership and frontline role in supporting the people of Eastern Equatoria.
The First Deputy Secretary General for Administration and Finance also lauded Governor Lobong’s service and dedication, particularly his contribution to peace, security, and stability in the state.
He attributed the governor’s achievements to his long years of service and pledged continued political engagement between the National Secretariat and the states.
He further revealed that the Secretariat will soon embark on nationwide visits to familiarize itself with grassroots challenges and ensure equitable support across the country.
