Kiir reshuffles Lakes State gov’t

President Salva Kiir has made mini-changes in the Lakes States revitalized government relieving and replacing some constitutional post holders.

All the officials, including four ministers, three commissioners, and a legal advisor, hailed from the ruling party- Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Government (SPLM-IG).

According to the Presidential Decrees announced on the state-owned SSBC on Monday’s evening.

Kiir sacked Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement, Benjamin Makuer Mabor and appointed Chol Korwel Malong to replace him.

Benjamin Makuer Mabor was reappointed to replace John Sebit Magok as the state legal advisor. The Minister of Housing and Public Utilities Majur Mayom Awan was replaced with Maweth Manuer Kok.

The president again replaced Kongor Deng Kongor as a Minister of General Education and Instruction with Nelson Makoi Makur, and Minister of Labour, Public Service, and Human Resource Development Deborah Akech Kuchniin was replaced with Jok Ayom Majak.

The head of state in the same decree sacked Rumbek East County Commissioner Mapuor Malek Arop and appointed Mading Gag his successor.  

As usual, no reason (s) were given for the mini reshuffle.

The president further sacked Commissioner of Rumbek East County, Mapuor Malek Arop, Commissioner Rumbek North, Arop Kumbai Dhalbeny, and Johnson Malual Achiek of Yirol East County.

He then replaced the three commissioners with Samuel Mading Gag as commissioner of Rumbek East County, Isaac Mayiik Loi, for Rumbek North County, and Manyang Luk Lueth as commissioner of Yirol East County.

President Kiir finally relieved Marko Tong Alier from his position as Deputy Chairperson of Employees justice chamber commission and appointed Mapour Malek Malual to succeed him.
