Kiir offers V8, SSP20 million to Azande King

President Salva Kiir has given 20 million South Sudanese Pounds (SSP) and a brand new V8 car to Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue, the newly crowned Azande King.
This was announced by Dr Benjamin Barnaba Marial, the minister for Presidential Affairs at the celebration and installation of the Azande King on Wednesday in Yambio.
According to Barnaba who handed over SSP20 million in cash during the installation of the new king in Yambio, it was President Kiir’s contribution to the restoration of the Azande Kingdom.
“President Kiir was happy for the restoration of the Azande Kingdom. As such, he supported this on two occasions with 20 million for the establishment of the new kingdom. As well, a part of the money will be used to support the family of the King as well Kiir also promised a V8 car to the King,” Dr Marial announced.
On the same occasion, the Central Equatoria State Governor also contributed SSP3 million to support the new Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Badagbu Daniel Rimbasa, a member of the royal family, confirmed president Kiir’s donation, adding that there was a lot promised by the president towards the support of the establishment of the new Azande Kingdom.
Although Rimbasa did not mention clearly some of the things that the president has pledged to bring to the Azande Kingdom, he insisted that there is a lot that is expected to be done by Kiir’s leadership, especially the full establishment of the restored Kingdom.
“Yeah, the president has supported the Kingdom in terms of giving financial support towards the celebrations, and a new car has been promised to be given to the King, and also, there are a lot of things that are still underway that will follow to the full establishment of the Kingdom,” a royal family member stated.
He also revealed that the country’s vice president for the economic cluster, Dr James Wani Igga, is also expected to meet the new Azande King, although he did not point out the agenda for meeting the King.
