Juba City Council mull eviction of hotels from residential areas

The mayor of the Juba City Council (JCC), Michael Ladu Allajabu has warned that he will soon evict all the hotels and lodges within the residential areas.

The mayor lamented that the mushrooming hotels and restaurants were compromising the social values of the community and eroding morality.

“We in the Juba City Council have realised that in fact, the business of hotels is okay but it should not be rampant and should not be in every residential area in the city,” Allajabu said.

“We want [hotels dealers] to acknowledge this and see that those hotels which are situated within or in the middle of residential areas are to be avoided.”

Allajabu was speaking at the Ethiopia -South Sudan Business Discussion Forum aimed to promote sound and clean business held by the Ethiopian Embassy at Hotel Dembesh in Juba on Thursday.
