Hon Adut, Governor Al-Tiab discuss Western Equatoria challenges

The Governor of Western Equatoria State, James Al-Taib on Monday met with the Presidential Envoy on Special Programs, Adut Salva Kiir to discuss the issues affecting the residents in the State.

Al-taib expressed gratitude to the President for entrusting Adut with what he described as “an important national role” at a time when unity and cooperation between the national and state governments are critical.

Governor Al-taib said that Western Equatoria continues to face challenges that require close coordination between Juba and the state leadership.

“We are grateful for the support of the President and the appointment of Hon. Adut Kiir to this national role,” he said.

“This shows that the leadership of our country is serious about strengthening partnerships that will improve the lives of our citizens.”

He emphasized that his administration is committed to working together with national institutions to ensure peace, stability, and development are realized by the people.

On her part, Hon. Adut Salva Kiir assured the Governor of her readiness to engage constructively with the state leadership.

She underlined that her new role was not only about national-level programs but also about ensuring that the voices of communities across the states are heard and acted upon.

“I am committed to working closely with the state leadership,” Adut said.

“I will soon visit Western Equatoria to engage directly with the communities and listen to their priorities. Together, we will find solutions to the issues affecting our people.”

Governor Al-Taib welcomed her plans, stressing that such visits are essential for building trust and strengthening ties between the government and the people.

“The importance of collaboration for peace, stability, and development cannot be overstated,” he added.

“We stand ready to work with Hon. Adut Kiir and the national government to achieve lasting progress in Western Equatoria.”
