The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, is on a two-day tour in Yei River and Morobo counties to consult with the communities on their priority needs.
The state authorities have already included health, education, infrastructure, and agriculture in their state strategic plans but want to hear from the communities on their priorities.
In a press statement seen by The City Review yesterday, Adil said he is already on the ground alongside his members of the executive, such as State Advisors, Cabinet Ministers, area parliamentarians, religious leaders, and other senior government officials.
“The aim of this working two-day visit is to hear directly from the communities about their essential needs and to deeply understand how the state government’s lined ministries can swiftly respond to some of the highly pressing issues encountered by the local communities, especially in the crucial areas of education, healthcare, and infrastructure,” the statement read in part.
According to the statement, Governor Adil and his delegates shall hold a series of meetings with the local chiefs, youth, women, and religious leaders in the areas of peace, reconciliation, trust, and confidence, to strengthen local government structures as stipulated in the agreement.
Adil was received by the Commissioner of Yei River County, Aggrey Cyrus, and immediately proceeded to Morobo County, where he was warmly received by the County Commissioner, Joseph Mawa, together with the communities.
The recent 5th governors’ forum came up with many resolutions that need to be implemented, including the restoration of peace at the grassroots and development.
