Gogrial East County rape suspect hunted by police

Authorities in Gogrial East County, Warrap State are searching for a man accused of attempting to rape a 9-year-old girl in Luony-Aker Payam on Wednesday.
Police investigator, Mr. Thiik Agoth Giir, in Luony-Aker payam revealed to this publication on Friday in a phone interview that the suspect attempted to rape the young girl but he fled after the girl screamed.
He said residents at Luony Aker Payam were tipped about the incident and the report was filed at the police station.
Agoth said they are searching for the suspect identified as Majut Akot Kuot who is said to be related to the girl.
“What the man of 24 years did to a 9-year-old bewildered people a lot. This can cause a person to get a verdict of 10 years and is very clear in the law,” he said.
“So we are looking for this young man as the father of the girl is highly enraged by the man’s act.”
Medics at Luony-Aker health facility described the survivor’s condition in the facility where is being treated as responding positively.
