Former Angolan President Jose Dos Santos dies
The former president of Angola, José Eduardo dos Santos has passed on.
He was 79.
Do Santo’s death was announced Friday on the official social media accounts of the Angolan presidency.
Do Santos has been battling illness, and died a few minutes before noon, in Barcelona, Spain since he stepped down in 2017.
The late president ruled Angola, Africa’s second-biggest oil producer for nearly 40 years.
His death came just a few hours after ex- Japan Prime Minister – Shinzo Abe died of gunshot wounds.
He was shot twice, by a gunman identified as Tetsuya Yamagami, while giving a speech.
