Father kills daughter as he breaks up a fight with boyfriend

A man is facing manslaughter charges after fatally stabbing his daughter while trying to fight off the deceased’s boyfriend.

Laurence Green, 51, told Florida police that he mistakenly stabbed his daughter – Sidney Green, 22, by accident after she tried to break up a fight with her partner.

Laurence had returned to his Clearwater home and found his daughter inside the house with her boyfriend.

He then ordered the an unidentified man to leave his apartment before a fight broke out.

“I said, ‘you got three minutes to get him out of the house’ and she wouldn’t get him out of the house,” Green told WFTS.

An argument then ensued as the two men engaged in a brawl that spilled to the parking lot of apartments.

“He (Laurence) was being hit in the head by the (daughter’s) boyfriend and he was trying to defend himself.

“He intended to stab the boyfriend to get him off him and that is when his daughter intervened between the two of them,” police said.

Preliminary reports show the father was acting in self-defense, according to Clearwater Police.

Sidney was stabbed in the stomach. He later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Now, Laurence is mourning the loss of his daughter while dealing with serious charges.

Laurence was arrested and could be charged for manslaughter at the Pinellas County Jail, NY Post reports.

The boyfriend remains unnamed and it’s unclear if he was injured during the stabbing.
