The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) has trashed a document peddling the suspension of Akobo County Commissioner Gatwech Reat Deng.

A document dated 15/11/2021 and obtained by The City Review claims that the suspension came amid several reports that the Commission was incapable of executing his official duties.

“This note serves to inform all the SPLM/A (IO) post holders, both political and military wing that, the First Vice President, Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of SPLM/A (IO), Dr Riek Machar Teny has suspended the Commissioner of Akobo County, Hon. Gatwech Reat Deng from his duty until further notice,” the letter read in part.

“However, this came, followed the several reports submitted to my office about him being incapable to take action, example: acting of all heads departments for about four months, and failure to declare deputy trader for Akobo County as a result of threaten from the community,” the marred by grammatical errors continued.

On Tuesday, Puok Baluang, the SPLM-IO Acting Press Secretary in the Office of the First Vice President rubbished the document.

In a tweet seen by The City Review, Mr Baluang posted the document with the caption “Notification – Fake and forged document”.
