Bright Starlets’ final squad announced ahead of Sudan friendly

The South Sudan Women’s Senior National Team head coach, Shirlene Booysen, has released the final squad ahead of next week’s Sudan visit.

The Bright Starlet senior team is expected to play two international friendlies against Sudanese senior women’s teams on February 16 and 20, 2022.

For the past three weeks, Booysen has been involved in serious preparation with over 30 local home-based players whom she has been monitoring to see who could fit in her squad.

According to the final squad list released and seen by The City Review, 17out of 22 players came from the two teams; with Yei, Joint Stars FC contributing eight players and El Merriekh Juba having nine representatives.

Below are the names of the summoned players who will play against the Sudanese women in the coming days. They are Anna Ihure Jino Stephen, from Malakia WFC, and Khalda Hassan Mohammed Tutu, from El Merriekh FC, Juba.

Defenders                         

Ester Kide Kute Joseph, El Merriekh, Amadrio Filda, El Merriekh FC, Intisar Abdallah Arabi Awei, El Merriekh FC, Sumaya Malili Taban Noah, Yei Join Stars, Dorka Geroald Lokeri, El Merriekh FC, and Nakirijja Annet Adebo Vita, Yei Join Stars.

Midfielders

Apayi Hatima Rebert Abass from Yei Join Stars, Makunga Maurine Amose Lasu of Yei Join Stars, Amy Lasu of El Merriekh FC, Juba, Roda Easter Luis, Munuki FC, Juba, Suzy Michael Ariamba, El Merriekh FC, Anyeit Wek Maduok, Narlol WFC, Marry Dawa Marko Dan, Yei Join Stars, Kilega Eunice Justin Lokonga, Yei Join Stars, Diana Padonyi, Paul Kuanreth, Munuki FC and Viola Idaha John Ojok.

Strikers

Sarah Aparo Mathew, El Merriek FC, Chieng Thomas Manyol Riek, El Merriek FC, Alworanga Debora Stephen Luka, Join Stars and Marry Anger Bol Kuach, Yei Join Stars, completed the list.

The South Sudanese side will be hoping to get their first international competition under Booysen after their terrible performance last year, which saw them record heavy losses in games.

There are only two goalkeepers named by Coach Booysen.
