Body of late minister Peter Manawa to arrive next week for burial
The late Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Manawa Peter Gatkuoth, will be buried in Juba, the government has said.
The Manawa passed on last Friday, June 19, in Cairo, Egypt where he was flown for medical attention after he fell sick.
His remains are expected back in the country on Monday, June 27 for a mass and subsequent burial.
He will be buried at Simba Ground, the committee for the funeral rite has announced.
before he left for Egypt, on June 17, Manawa had check ups at Freedom and Baraka hospital after he complained of chest pain. He was evacuated to Cairo for further check up after his health deteriorated.

The the family is yet to make official the result of the autopsy report, First Vice President, Dr Riek Machar, confirmed in a press release that the late Manawa died of blood pressure.
The late was appointed Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation in March 2020 as per the Revitalised Peace Agreement that came into effect on February 22, 2020.
he was also the chairperson of the National Committee for Information and Public Relations for the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO). Besides, he was a member of the SPLM-IO Political Bureau.
Both President Salva Kiir and his First Deputy Dr Machar, described Manawa as a strong leader and a nationalist who worked towards reforms.
