Anei Dut: South Sudan’s ‘third most handsome man alive’ faces lengthy jail-term over fraud charges
An international model of South Sudanese descent, who at one time was named the ‘third most handsome man alive’ could face several months in jail for fraud-related charges.
Anei Dut, 27, pleaded guilty to six counts of fraud in Australia earlier this month. Dul finally broke his silence after admitting to stealing credit card information. He would later go on spending sprees across Sydney, Daily Mail Online reported.
The fashionista was due to face a sentencing hearing today (Tuesday) on June 27, but the case was adjourned for six weeks. He will return to Newtown Local Court on August 9 for sentencing.
Dut, who moved to Australia in 2003 after fleeing the war in South Sudan, said he was remorseful. He further claimed that he had already reimbursed the store for the stolen funds.
“I paid them back already. I have apologized,” Dut was quoted by the Daily Mail.
He was accused of stealing credit card numbers from 19 people from illegal websites.
It is said that the model who has worked with some key internal labels scammed the pharmacy chain in March 2021 when he bought items in bulk by manually entering the details of the stolen credit cards.
The Daily Telegraph reported that Dut would later return the goods and request a refund be sent to his personal Westpac account.

The court heard that Dut also shared six of the 19 credit card numbers with a third party via text.
Dut, a sought-after model, has had a run-in with the authorities.
In 2013, he was convicted of assault. Three years later, his driving license was suspended and then in 2020 – for drink-driving and getting behind the wheel with a suspended license.
Daily Mail further reported that Dut is currently serving an intensive corrections order for contravening a domestic restraining order.
