Ambassador Hua assures Kiir of China’s support
The Chinese Ambassador to South Sudan, Hua Ning has pledged that all the infrastructural development undertaken by China will be completed this year.
The diplomat spoke after a successful roundtable discussion with President Salva Kiir Mayardit at a farewell party following the end of his tenure.
China is currently taking up major projects in South Sudan, including an air traffic management system, construction of the South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation – SSBC block an upgrading of the first section of Juba- Rumbek highway
“Ambassador Hua Ning briefed President Salva Kiir Mayardit on the major projects currently being undertaken in South Sudan by China. He informed the President that some of these projects such as, will be completed this year,” read a statement from the office of the President.
Hua further noted that the bilateral relations between China and South Sudan had deepened through robust diplomatic engagements.
Other projects
In February 2022, the Chinese diplomat promised that his government would support peace initiatives and service delivery across the country.
“My country is working closely with the government of South Sudan to sustain peace and the delivery of basic social services to the people,” he said during the launch of the Youth Vocational training Programme in Nagishot Payam of Budi County, Eastern Equatoria State.
The project that is meant to empower the youth financially through agriculture and animal husbandry, is funded by the Chinese Embassy through the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and implemented by Community Development Support Services (CDSS).
