4,824 candidates pass CPE exams in Lake State

Lakes State has registered an impressive performance in the just released Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) results. Out of the 5007 candidates registered for CPE, 4,901 candidates sat for the examination- 4329 males and 1495 females, all recording a passing rate of 98.4% .
Meanwhile, 30 males and 47 females (1.6percent) failed to make the cut off marks for secondary level.
Lakes State Minister of General Education, Hon. Nelson Makoi Makur said there was an improved performance by candidates in 2024 (98.4%) as compared to the previous year, 2023 (97.3%).
St. Daniel Comboni Yirol Primary School was the best school among the top ten schools, with 86.2 %, followed by Bun-Agok Primary (84.6%), Adior Primary School (84.1%), Yirol Girls (83.9%), Matt. Academy (83.5%), Ramciel Complex (82.6%), Pagarau (82.6%), Panekar Boys (82.4%), Ireneo Dud Foundation Primary (82.3%) and ECS Dhieu-kuei (82.2%).
Yirol East County emerged as the best among the eight counties of Lake State, with 79.5% followed by Awerial with 79.4%, then Yirol West (73.8%), Rumbek East (72.6%), Wulu (70.3%), Cueibet (70.0%), Rumbek Centre (66.5%) and Rumbek North (66.4%), making a total of 72.3% average of the candidates who passed in Lake State.
Majak Agok Malual Muou topped the list with 89.4% from Bishop Caeser Mazzolari Rumbek Centre followed by James Mayom Mayom Koch with 89.2% from Ireneo Dud Foundation Cueibet and in the third place was Abraham Yic-ngek Mapuor Mangok with 88.8% from Ireneo Dud Foundation Cuelbet. The top ten students are all male.
Registration for the academic year 2025 has begun, with some schools registering students for the interviews to commence for their secondary Education journey.
