Joseph Ndepi wins Yambio FA presidency
Joseph Ndepi defeated interim president Silvester Ruati to clinch Yambio Local Football Association (Y-LFA) presidency.
Ruati who was acting on an interim basis got a mere 16 out of a possible 37 in the election conducted on Monday, June 26.
Ndepi garnered 21 votes.
The election was called following the resignation of Felix Francis Katie and Kondo Samuel Ningso, as president and vice president respectively.
He was declared the winner of the Local Football Association champions after receiving 21 out of 37 votes.
Ndepi promised to promote teamwork among executives as well as all sports personnel in the state.
He said his main priority was to promote the development of football across the Yambio.
“My team will work on creating and setting up a proper documentation and data management system that will help to record and keep all YLFA information safe for now and future reference.”
He also vows to organize the association in a manner that will reflect the constantly modernizing and evolving spirit of football by issuing regulatory principles of YLFA per the rules and regulations of the South Sudan Football Association.
He further assured that the body will soon hold the long-overdue Annual General Meeting assembly to discuss the financial, administrative, and technical reports.
“I will support in funding and lobbying for both champions from within and sub-associations in their efforts to represent YLFA in national tournaments,” he added.
Who is Joseph Ndepi?
Ndepi was born on October 15, 1988, in Yambio County, Western Equatoria State. He holds a Diploma in Human Resource Management (HRM) from a Ugandan university.
During his time in primary and secondary school, he was an active player and was rewarded with a scholarship in primary school for his good performance.
After retirement from active football, he ventured into coaching – his first stint with Anisa FC.
After graduation in 2013, Ndepi came back home (Yambio) and he was appointed as the head coach of his former club, Super Star FC, 2013. A year later, he joined St. Mary’s FC. Ndepialso where he served as the first secretary of the coaches’ committee under YLFA.
He holds a level one coaching certificate.
